Most of you guys suggested I try moving up to 8-strings from 6, despite struggling with the narrower string spacing. I've spent a year finding my way around C6 (low to high CEGACE), so I added an A underneath, and on top a D (like some modern C6th pedal players) instead of the more traditional G. I find that when playing melodies on the top strings, the 'missing' note is right there under the bar on the top string, instead of having to move up or down two frets to find it. Also notes a whole tone apart sometimes ring together, sounding again like a 10-string pedal tuning.
I wanted a brighter sound like a pedal steel pickup, and moving my pickup nearer the bridge got me this on my OTWIN - anyone ever heard of these guitars?
