Maybe i will get some feedback in this electronics section,i just wondered if anyone has tried a GL E66 P/UP on a ZB,i have recently brought a beautifull SD10 that seems to only have a two coil p/up,the reason i ask is i have a new GL E66 P/UP that i may like to try,it`s because i only use the fuller switch setting when i play, and i just wondered what it would sound like.

Jimmy.

There's only one way to find out, Jimmy, can't think of one good reason not to do so Smile

I can. The pickup wires on a ZB are snaked through the body.

Its a major job to replace that pick-up although you wouldn't be wiring the switch up with the G/L pick-up. The other thing is I think you will lose some of the ZB vibe by changing pick-ups. Combonation of the pick-up, changer, wood, and castings is what gives ZB's their unique sound. On the other hand....tone is in the ear of the beholder!!!

I haven't seen the guitar in question, but if pulling the wires is the issue, you can tie or solder a "snake" wire to the existing leads, and as you draw the pickup out of the guitar, the wire will follow. Then, solder or tie the new pickup leads to the snake wire, and pull it all back thru.
