Confused I have a Melobar Rattler 8 str lap that i want to update the pu .I checked with Georgel's and their model 10-1 would be great except they are too high for this guitar.I don't know what brand is on the guitar now,it is original, but does'nt perform very vell compared to my Magnatone.I think this pu is actually for a 6 str as the two outer strings do not have much sound or tone compared to the rest.Any help would be appreciated..

Are you looking for recommendations for a replacement eight string pickup? Without seeing the existing pickup, it's hard to suggest what might fit.

Do you have any pictures of this lap steel you could share?

That pickup looks remarkably like one of the humbuckers in my Rickenbacker 650D guitar...

It's just fine - because the pickups were designed for a 6-string 'regular' guitar. I'm not sure how they'd work with 8 strings, heading off toward the edges like that - I suspect that exactly what you're experiencing would happen.

As I say, it looks like one of those pickups - but that doesn't mean it is one Smile

Email Jason Lollar, and see if he can rewind it more to your liking.
