PASTOR BRUCE.....
Might we be able to get some shots of undercarriage ?
I really liked the second guitar ....that with some gold tuners & knobs would look very classy.
VERY NICE !
thank you for sharing.............****Bob V**** _________________ EQUIPMENT:

Your guitars are awesome! what strings do the pedals and levers work? |

Andy ,
Thanks for the look and kind words. My pedals
on these are Day setup -my feet seem to do this
better -- PC is F# on 2 , PB is G#- A on 1 & 4,
PA is B - C# on 3 & 6 --could be turned around
for Emmonds , I guess easy enough .RKL is E -Eb ,
LKR is E's-F# on 2 & 5 .May change LKR to G#-F#
for a 7th w/A down . Other levers may be added
if desired .Might even be good w/ a fourth pedal
for G# -G on 4 to get an open minor .Have this on
my old 8-str. Fender -- works great!

Well done!!! You should sell a bunch, there is a market
for the 6 string PSG>
Is the changer a Pull-Release? I can't tell from the pick.
Also do you use rollers at the nut?
Keep up the great work.

Great addition to the steel world! I am impressed. How about a sound clip? Would this instrument work well with a C6 tuning? |

Mr. Carter ,
sorry no reply yet - thanks for the good
revue - C6 would probaly work given the right
pedal arrangement etc. I don't playC6 but I know
a gentleman nearby that does - did?- and he
uses a 6 - string lap steel .Shouldn't be a
major problem if set up for this.
Thanks again! Pastor Bruce
P.S. -About that sound byte - my forum skils are
lacking in that area - doggone ol' learning
curves! Maybe later - sure wouldn't mind ! |

Would one call this a hybrid?
Nice looking, though. _________________ 1970 P/P Emmons D10 flatback 8x5, BJS Bar, J F picks, Peavey Session 500, Telonics pedal. Boss GX700 effects.

|

Dear Nic ,
I wouldn't think of these guitars as hybrids but
maybe "abbreviated" since they are in fact
actual pedal steels .The string order 1-6 is
just the same as 10-string #'s 3,4,5,6,8,10.
they can have the same changes per string as
those strings do on a S10.SO much of the same
music can be had on these that for some people
the simplicity and light weight would make them
fairly desirable . No matter what , they are in- deed a lot of fun and very playable .I probably
wouldn't rule out building 10 - stringers ,etc.
if someone were to order that way - just a
matter of 4 more changer train sections .
Thanks for your kindness & response!

I like it ! Between the cussin' and

will turn out to be "PRAISE-WORTHY"
as I try to learn pedal steel !

The world of Pedal steel is digressing. Bob downsized to a 8 string, and now comes along a 6 string.. Maybe a 4 string bass pedal steel will be next to hit the market.
I'd say it's sure going to be missing a whole lot of voicings, that are quite popular in today's music.
While it could possibly take a hold to get some folks interested, since it looks good, & won't look to be nearly as intimidating to some. It just might do well......
Wishing you the best......... |

Sorry to bump a year old thread, but these look amazing Pastor Bruce. I currently play an S-10 that I've set up as a 6 string (G#-E-B-G#-E-B) with an semi-Emmons 3 pedal set up.
I've been looking to build one similar to yours, but don't have the metal working skills...I'm going to PM you for some info.
Keep up the great work, it truly is Praise-worthy! |
