Had the privilege of hearing and meeting Larry Coryell last night upstairs at Roller's in Chestnut Hill (Philly), tiny, intimate venue, with Jim Dragoni on guitar and Craig Thomas on bass. When I told him that I played jazz pedal steel, he got quite excited and said, "You mean like Buddy Emmons!?" It was obvious that he knew and admired Buddy's jazz work, which was wonderful to hear. Then, when I told him I led a western swing band in Philly, he again got all excited, saying that he really loves the music of Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys! Hah! That was great to hear too! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
