We just found out last night that we've been nominated for the 2011 season as Best Band in the "Best Of Our Valley" competition here in Arizona.
If you'd like to see some hillbillies make a run for the prize, go to: http://arizonafoothillsmagazine.com/best-of-our-valley-2011/voting/146.html and click the button to the left of "The Mike & T Band", then answer the security question and then click "vote".
There are some great bands on the list but we're the only one with a pedal steel....wheeeee!!
Voting continues for about 2-months with one vote allowed per day and there is no real prize or cash involved (at the winners reception this year, we got some free beverages and hors'derves ) So, it'll just be for bragging rights and nothing more.
Win or lose, I'll post some new instrumental as special thanks for any support! We won the 2010 title with the help of the forum and especially the efforts of our own Jim Cohen...thanks again!! _________________ Mike S.

I gave you a plug because I think that there is something fishy about the Lobster band currently leading the votes, without a steel guitar.
" Rock Lobster 54.4 % "
"The Mike & T Band 35.1 % " |

The Gap has Been Rapidly Closing, It won't be long before Its reversed. I noticed that Last Years Leader for a while, Pheed was at 0%, not a big threat right now. |

Mike & T are now in a strong second place, with over 27% of the votes cast. They have narrowed the gap to less than 10% with the front-runner. I have a feeling that front-runner is about to learn the same lesson that Pheed learned last year: "You Don't Mess Around With The Steel Guitar Forum!!"
Go for it, guys! Sic' em! _________________ www.JimCohen.com

I hate to loose so If you have different browsers you can get more that one vote per day. One vote for you and one for your wife or girlfriend. If you have 3 browsers you can do 3(like me). One for you, one for your wife and one for your girlfriend except I don't have a wife.
Open the link in one browser and copy and paste it into the others. |

You are all crazy and...I LOVE IT! I guess I better get busy writing a new "thank you" tune (again...win or lose) as the voting is a bit shorter this year (thank God!).
You're all the BEST...you know that right?

I'm on this bandwagon, too ... I've been voting each day for the last three days. And, I'm also driving over to a bud's house so I can vote on his computer as well.
Thanks for the tip on the browsers ... I have four browsers, so I've been able to get my four votes in for the day on my computer and three on my friend's computer for a total of seven votes today.
Today's my fourth day to vote and, if the voting screen is updated and accurate, it looks like Mike & T occupies a good strong second place at the moment with 34.3% ... (a band called The Hamptons show to be at 47.4% on today's screen) ... let's all continue to show our support for Mike & T and keep the votes coming in for another win for them this year ...
For any who may be curious at what today's screen looked like, here's a quick screen shot I took of the page when I voted today ...
By the way, Mike, regardless of the voting outcome, you're definitely a winner in our books! _________________ 1986 Mullen D-10 with 8 & 7 (Dual Bill Lawrence 705 pickups each neck)
