I just ordered the last Fender Steel King from Dana (haha) and he is sending me the secret settings (even more secret for my Hilton pedal). It will arrive on Monday.
Talking with Dana on the phone he really enjoyed playing at our show and expressed his love for the PSG so much that he said he would even come and play during our quarterly meetings if in town.
All who played made this show a great success, but most of all thanks to Tony and Elaine for a fantastic job pulling it together. What a great tribute to Tony on his "Presidential" retirement.

Nice to see Sammy Gibson getting his due.If there is a guy who has more fun than Sammy as his always on display smile and sense of humor shows, I would like to meet him. I guess there is no more reason to wear the "Tee" Shirt Sammy! "People all know who the hell Sammy Gibson is now". There is simply no way that could ever have been a secret anyway.

Hey Joe Casey Sam Gibson does not wear that tee Shirt any more. He is A Fessenden man. He wears a great Fessenden Tee Shirt and I have to get a hold of Jerry as I need one of those Tee Shirts.
Joe you missed a great show.

I was just thinking about the show last Sunday Oct.23. It`s hard to believe it was just a week ago. On Monday morning Oct. 24, I couldn`t concentrate on my job,(machining plastic). I screwd up a few parts.
These steel pickers are to blame and should be held accountable. 1. John Demaille and his wife Darlene did a monster set. 2.Doug Beaumier picked like a son-of-gun. His theatrics were an eye catcher.(Recently I had the honor of playing with Doug in Webster, Mass. on Oct. 2,-awesome lead player). 3. Sam Gibson followed with all his toys and tricks. Sam is one talented and underrated player. 4. Dana Flood is guilty of leaving those silky sounding bell-like tones that stayed in my head that night when I went to bed. 5. Unfortunately Tony Palmer and Kerry Anderson didn`t get to play. At our quarterly meetings, they are the ones who excel. In conclusion, it was the whole show that made me brain dead at work the next day.[This message was edited by manny escobar on 31 October 2005 at 12:38 PM.] |

Manny, thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed Your set... very entertaining! When we played in Webster last month I could see that you have a lot of fans in the country circuit… they love you!
I have a couple of steel gigs with that band this month, and I think I’ll be playing guitar with them again in January, so I’m sure we’ll be working together again. |

Geeeze! The more I read on this post the sorrier I am I couldn't make the event.
The details are only now starting to surface.
Doug B's pulling out all the stops with the "Little Richard" moves.
Manny's 'bout half-dressed ,well kicked off one boot anyway.
Sam G. sporting bright yellow horns and wailing on the talk box.
Steel Kings are selling like hot cakes!
Darn!Must have been quite some performances.

Tony those are some great Pictures of the Steel Show. Are those the ones that Anne took?? They came out great.If you have more put them on so people can see what a great show and the great talent we had.

| A lot of folks don’t know that Manny built his pedal steel guitar! I got an up close look at his PSG last month when I played guitar on stage next to Manny, and I was definitely impressed! |

| Doug,Thanks for the compliment. In building the guitar, I`ll take credit for: 1. two-piece bell cranks(pullers) and 2. the adjustable pickup mount. But after looking at the fine craftmanship from Tommy Cass`s black Emmons,(which he displayed at the RISGA show on Oct. 23), I am not so proud. A potential buyer for my guitar would be turned off with the unpolished underneath parts that I machined. Can`t wait to work with you again or hear you on your new Steel King.
