I will be there to listen to some of the great Steel Guitar music. I do not feel like playing with all the great players that will be there.I guess I will just have to play and do my best. If I go first the people might think I'm doing good.

This is an excellent line-up and should be a top notch show and a real bargain for what little admission the club is charging. The Rhody show this sunday should be one of the best.Tony Palmer and the RISA have spared no effort and Country folks are in for a real treat of Great steel Guitar artist and their music.

Hey, I just made a deal with the caterer at the K of C.....we'll be having an Italian buffet for $5! (meatballs, sausage and peppers, pasta, etc.)
That's the way we do it in Rhode Island!
If all afternoon steel music isn't enough, come for the food!
(did I mention the bar will be open?) |

Sounds like it's going to be a great show! Uncle Merle and I are looking forward to coming down and playing! We'll be playing at my club, The Silver Spur the night before, so we'll be primed and ready for Sunday! We're sorry we were unable to make Frankie's show this year! It sounded like we missed out big time!! Too bad we have to have real jobs huh? See you all in a few days!!! |

I just looked at the list of players again and I realized how many steel players are around this area!
Believe me, many more would have liked to play at our show and we would have loved to accommodate everyone, but 15 is our limit!
It's a ton of work organizing shows like this and my hat goes out to all the groups and individuals that put these on year after year after year (Bob M. you know who I'm talking about!)
I'd like to thank in advance everyone who is playing at our show and invite anyone within driving distance to attend.
The steel guitar community is alive and well in little Rhody! www.risga.com |

AWSOME AWSOME what can I say it was crowded and the Steel players were all the best there is.It was one of the best Steel shows we have had.I do have to say it is as good as all the Steel shows I have been to in North Carolina and Tennessee. I'm not taken any thing away from the other shows but this is the way steel show are suppose to be GREAT.

This was our best show EVER!!!!
Why? Because the room was filled to capacity (200!), the steel players were absolutely smoking, the Itlaian buffet was a complete sellout! and most of all, the steel players had as good a time as the audience.
The hall stayed full until the last note was played at 6PM. Usually you see the steel players do their thing, have abeer then leave...not here!
It was great hanging around with the players all afternoon, eating, drinking and listening.
Truly a great community of people.
Thanks to all who played and attended!
Will post pictures soon.

Thanks to Tony, Len, Manny, Sam, and everyone at the RISGA. This show was a great success in every way. It has grown so much over the past few years. The backup back was excellent! I enjoyed playing for the folks in RI, seeing so many friends, sharing stories, and listening to the great players. Some highlights for me were Dana Flood’s Tone-to-die-for, Sam Gibson’s spectacular, electrifying performance, John DeMaille’s great set, Terry Sutton playing his vintage Sho-Bud through his old Sho-Bud Christmas Tree Amp, meeting forum member John Davis from the UK, seeing Tommy Cass and drooling over his sparkling clean ‘60s Emmons D-10. Wow! I enjoyed listening to All of the players who contribute so much to this great event. I’m looking forward to next year.

Well Tony, you promised a great show and you succeeded in bringing it to fruition. The "RISGA" has every right in the world to be proud of itself. It was an absolute success!! Darlene and I, thank you all for asking us to participate. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Everybody was so graciuous and the "brotherhood" was very tight. I can only say that, I applaud us all for our participation in a wonderous event. |

I tip my hat to Tony and the RISGA for a fantastic well organized show. Great music and a phenomenal attendance.
This must be the year for steel shows in New England. With the success of Frank Caruso's show and the RISGA show, now we have the PSGA show which from all indications should see a banner year. |
