Sold on Ebay. Thanks for looking. Watch for more VZ Customs.
Guitar with hard shell tweed case $875, or make an offer.
I built this custom Tele in my shop in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The semi-hollow Thinline style body, crafted by Jeff Neville, has a tiger maple top and back with ash in the middle. The ash is end matched. The color coat is amber. The finish is nitrocellulose lacquer.
The 21 fret Fender licensed tiger maple neck is from Musikraft. It has a medium C Profile. It has a rosewood fingerboard with medium 6105 frets, and dual acting truss rod. The truss rod adjustment is at the heel. The nut width is 1-5/8". The fretboard radius is 10". The tuners are Genuine Kluson vintage style. I cut and installed a bone nut.
The bridge pickup is a Seymour-Duncan STL-3 Quarter Pound. The neck pickup is a Seymour-Duncan STR-3 Quarter Pound. Both pickups have high output and they are well matched with a wide tonal range. (If you buy this guitar and have a set of pickups that you prefer over the ones I have installed, send them to me and I will install them and give you a $50 credit for the Seymour-Duncans.)
The electronics on this guitar are fairly standard: CTS pots, Orange Drop Cap, Switchcraft output jack, Fender 3-way switch.
The bridge is a Joe Barden vintage 3-barrel compensated bridge. The Joe Barden bridge is my favorite because of its ease if installation and intonation.
Included with this guitar is a hard shell Tweed case.
Every guitar I build is one of a kind, with a unique look and sound. I usually turn out one of two VZ Custom guitars a month. This guitar is as good as or better than any $1,200+ cookie-cutter factory-built guitar. Any guitar is only as good as its setup. I spend a lot of time setting up VZ Customs for optimal playability. I set the action as low as possible without encountering fret buzz. I set the neck for minimal relief. The nut slots are cut for optimal distance between the bottom of each fret and the first fret. I always check for high frets and level if necessary. I check fret ends for smoothness. The final step in the set up is to check the intonation of each string and adjust where necessary.
If you have any questions about this guitar, please ask. If you want a more detailed picture of anything, I will try to oblige.
I guarantee the quality of all VZ Custom Guitars. I will accept returns if you believe the guitar you received does not meet the specifications outlined in my description. If you are not satisfied, you may return via insured UPS at your expense within seven days of delivery. I will refund the purchase price plus original shipping. Bottom line: if you don’t like the guitar you’re out of pocket only the cost of return shipping. (I don’t consider “I changed my mind” or “My wife won’t let me keep it” legitimate reasons for returns.) _________________ Bud Veazey

Ron, I have to get some cash out of it, but I'd consider a partial trade. _________________ Bud Veazey

Ron, I don't need a steel right now. I'd consider a tube amp. _________________ Bud Veazey

In my original post I failed to include a picture showing the brand new hard shell tweed case that comes with this guitar. (I buy these cases from Tradition Guitars, so the Tradition logo is on the front.)

Ron, as much as I envy my talented Steel playing friends and even though I'm sure they'd teach me some licks, I'm not looking for a steel right now. Thanks for the offer. _________________ Bud Veazey

Hey, don't give up. If this beauty stays on the market too long I might break down. I gotta buy parts. _________________ Bud Veazey

The SGF has been good to me so here's a special offer for members of the Steel Guitar Forum: $750 + shipping for this guitar and hard shell tweed case. This guitar remains listed in other places, including Ebay at the original price. Buy it here and get a deal. At this price I can't do any trades. Cash only. _________________ Bud Veazey

Couldn't believe I found you on this site. Wade is slowly seducing me back into the wacky world of pedal steel. I had a Remington Steel that I bought from Herb Remington, from Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. I literally gave it away when we were downsizing into an apartment. I am regreting that right now.
I am sure you will get your price on this gorgeous guitar. |

Hi David. I've had some good luck selling Teles here on the Steel Guitar forum. I'm trying to list my guitars wherever fellow gearheads hang out. _________________ Bud Veazey
