Bobby and guitarist Mark Admundsen will be performing from 5-8pm every Tuesday evening.
Use the satelite option for veiwing the area at www.maps.google.com to find the small out-of-the-way club - 1201 Kona St. Honolulu, should you be in town.
Too bad this conflicts with Jeff Au Hoy's Waikiki evening/time, but it's great to have steel guitar options! |

Hi Ron,
How can we hear or see Bobby or Jeff on the Internet -- or is it only available in Hawaii.
Appreciate your reply.

Howzit Warren!
About the only way these gigs could be heard is if I posted my recordings, if I ever figure out how..., or some tourists happens to post on youtube. But then comes the respect towards their preference of being heard without inspection/approval. Bobby, usually no problem, but Jeff is pretty reserved in that respect, and that's understandable, everybody wants to be heard at their best (even tho Jeff is always at his best!).
I've got plenty to share, and if it was soley up to me I'd promote their abilities non-stop with A/V, but in the real world, probably 'no can'. |

Sitting here editing my bootleg of the show I'm amazed how 4 guys that had rarely played together immediately gelled into a 'tight but loose' unit that had your attention from the start and kept the backyard "Gabby jam" feel for three hours presenting Hawaiian jazz at it's best as they had no idea what songs to even play. Bobby was 'on' and the laffs were non-stop, real good old style that you rarely get now.
The vocalist/uke, Koa Pedro, was unreal. Young guy, well versed in the good old stuff like Richard Kaui(!), Waikiki, Pahinui, falsetto, shalang-a-bang to contemperary ala Iz, a star-in-waiting.
All to a near-empty room... that'll change.
I'll try to post a file to hear it. |
