Hi Mike and Kim and Carey, I just want to say that I know the Lord is with you guys and Carey every second of this situation and that I am so proud of you guys doing such a great job helping Carey to understand what is going on. You mentioned earlier in a post that Carey knew the situation at hand and I have to say that it is a wonderful Testimonial to our Lord that you were able to help Carey in that way! Please accept my humble prayer for you guys and Carey.

I just ask our Heavenly Father to take care of Carey and you guys as you go through this very hard situation that only you guys and God can realize how hard it is to go through and Lord I ask you to bless Carey and her family in a way that will glorify you and your Heavenly ways and please give Carey peace and tranquility and the blessing of no pain through this final journey on her way to her new and final beautiful home with you and Jesus Christ and the complete Holy Trinity of Heaven! In Jesus Christ's name we ask Amen!!

Hello,
Just wanted to update everyone. Carey is resting as I am typing this. She has been runnung a fever on and off for awhile now they have been any where from 100 to 107.5. Her heart rate has been high also ranging from 130's to 150's.When she has been awake she has been agitated and crying when she don't understand things because she has been getting confused alot to.So the nurse went up on her morphine today to try to help with the agitation. She has been in her bed now for about a week and has lilited the visits in her room to just her grandparents and her siblings. She has not wanted anyone else to visit. We have had supper brought to us everynight which has helped us so much. And I want to thatnk everyone that has sent her a card or gift in the mail she has enjoyed this so much. Her daddy will bring her the mail in everyday and all the mail is for her he told her she needed her on mail box for all the mail she has gotten. But I will update you again soon.

I want to thank all of you who are sending cards to carey. It has really amazed me at some of the places these cards have come from.she has even gotten a DVD of alaska, and other places.she is doing ok but they have upped her morphine to 4 which is double that of what she was doing just yesterday.Careys nurse just sent my wife a text and said that time is getting close and we need to be prepared for it,not sure how to prepare saying goodby to our sweet little carey.GOD GIVE MY FAMILY AND I STRENGTH. appreciate all of you gotta go.

To Mike and your whole family, I pray for you guys to be able to make it through these hard times in a way that will help Carey feel comfortable at her special time of transition and of course only you and your family will know how to do that and if you are not sure please ask Jesus Christ what direction to move in to help Carey's transition easier!

I have never met you folks or Carey in person but I feel that through prayer and our Heavenly Fathers love that I do know enough about you to say that I love you all with all my heart and I pray that when little Miss Carey has made the trip with God's Angels to the other side to be with our precious Lord that God will in some way show you the way to celebrate her sweet but short life here on earth and help you remember where she is at that time! Like I said earlier I don't know you all personally but please try to focus on the wonderful gift that Carey has given you for the few years she was here with us!!

It seems that no matter what one says it just seems hollow and empty but I pray to my Lord that somehow what I've said here has helped in some small tiny way! God Bless you guys and Carey!!! I love you all with my heart and soul!!!!!

Big Bob Martin

Kim Heavner posted on Carey's CaringBridge website that Carey lost her battle with the cancer at 2am on 9 September 2010.

Rest In Peace, little one. You touched so many of us with your courage.

On behalf of all the steel-players in Australia, I offer my deepest condolences to Mike and Kim, Jenna, Ivy and Li'l Mike Heavner for this most grievous loss.

My heart and condolences go out to Carey's parents, family and friends. This is another of those times that His plan doesn't make sense to us, but rest assured He has a plan for Carey.

Mike and Kim and all your family; I am at a loss for words at a time such as this; but do want you to know that there are hundreds of folks here on the forum and else-where. whom have followed your Carey's story to all parts of the continent. We truly fell in love with this child of God's; we thank the good lord for having " SHARED " Carey with all the " Heavners' and thank you for sharing her with us.
Back in 61 when The lord called our three years and two month old son, after falling off a sofa couch; Our local minister asked us to picture God going into his garden ; would he have chosen to pick a weed,no, instead he gathered the most beautiful flower there in his garden. I like to believe that Carey was certainly one of these lovely flowers.May she rest in peace.. God be with you folks..Our Love..Sincerely..Bernie & Margaret Gonyea

Mike, Kim, and family. Please accept our sincere condolences. No matter how prepared you are for something like this, it will still hit you like a brick. Only time can heal the wounds and a lot of prayer. Trust in HIM that you will get through this. Carey is now in a place with no pain....if you need anything, we are here.
