* * As of Oct 1 new lower price of $2995 includes shipping in lower 48 * *
I believe this Sho-Bud Super-Pro to be a 1979 model. It is 8x8 with L-710s. Serial# 13142. All the knee lever bracket pieces are made of aluminum, not pot metal. It has Coop fretboards (note slight raise of C6 fretboard at 26th fret). This baby plays like a dream with solid stops and all pulls balanced.
It has the Emmons set up with pedals 4 & 8 reversed. The outer E9 LKL lowers the Bs and inner (back of steel) raises the Es. The E9 LKR has been relocated closer to the back of the steel, similar to that of an Emmons. The E9 vertical raises 2 to E and raises 7 to G. RKL raises 1 to G# and lowers 6 to F# and lowers C6 3 to B. RKR double lower 2 with feel stop and lowers 9 and raises C6 4 to Bb. C6 has G on top, LKL raises 3+7 C-C#. C6 vertical lowers 2 and raises 6 half tones. Note in the changer pic below the pre-drilled holes for split tuning for E9 strings 4,5+10.
There is very minimal wear and dings between the necks and there are 3 nicks in the finish. 1 is above the "S" in Sho-Bud on the top front apron. 1 is in the middle left of the front bewteen the rope inlay and the other is on the top of the back apron near middle left. The steel and case are in great, great shape.
This is the most beautiful piece of Birds eye maple I've seen. The lacquer is in great shape and very wet looking. Take a look at all the pics below. Additional pics available, but Please, only to seriously interested parties.
Asking $3125 plus shipping to lower 48 only. The steel is already packaged (12x20x42 75 lbs) in heavy duty cardboard surrounded with styrofoam padding between the box and the case. The case is reinforced inside with 3 blocks in the pedal bar/leg rod pouch compartment to avoid damage and the steel is cradled in bubble wrap. The steel will ship from zip 63124. Insurance from my UPS shipper is 99cents per extra $100 over the first $100.
Thanks for looking . . . . . .. . .

Paging Mr. Muller.
Mr. Muller, are you looking at this ad?
Wouldn't you like to have this guitar?
If you buy this, it would look pretty sitting along side your other beautiful Sho-Buds.
You could play it whenever you like, and Doug could maybe come and visit with it every so often.
Beautiful guitar, Doug!

Other than the Super Pro 2, this may be the only one with inlaid necks. It's packed up and ready to go! |

Beautiful guitar.
Those are Super Pro guts. I've seen a couple SP's that have inlay on the necks before, but even more rare is the control panel mounted between the necks.
It's almost a SP2...wish I could snag this one. |

I want it,,, I want it,,,, I want it !!!!!!!!!
Fantabulosa..........Surely a special order guitar. Does the guy (sorry, I forgot his name) who has the sho-bud history and delivery and order info maybe know who ordered it. It looks to have three drilled adjusters in the endplate to facilitate split tuning on strings 4,5 and 10. I had this on a pro III and it works great.
I think it's quite an early one.
How gorgeous is that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even more rare is the 37 staple box, has to be 200 lb carboard with no lack of use in the packing tape department and the corners are square. This fabulous instrument is going to have one safe trip. |

Another unique thing on this SP is the apron inlay.
On most SP's, the apron inlay is 1/4" below the top of the apron and 1/4" above the bottom of the apron, with a small strip of the laq finish showing below the inlay.
On this gtr, the top inlay is approx 1/2 inch or so below the top of the apron, and the bottom inlay is flush with the bottom of the apron. This is similar to the older, big-bodied Buds. One of the first, if not the first SP can be seen in the Bud catalog from the late '70's, and it has the same inlay style.
FWIW, my SP is #13838 and it's either a '78 or '79. The earliest serial # from Gene Haugh's postings show #13375 to be from June '78, so this may be one of the first.
Which may be why there's inlay on the necks...before the bean counters went into full attack mode...
It would be nice to know the history of this unique gtr. |

Hi Doug,
I'm not going to buy this guitar because I already own a fine SuperPro. But nevertheless I'd like to ask you for the high resolution photos, especially of the undercarrige of this guitar. The reason is, I what to add levers, your guitar already has, to my guitar soon. I could use the photos for reference.
Thanks and good luck with your sale
