There's gonna be a friend of mine getting married at the Veritas Winery in Afton, VA on 11/20 this year, and there's gonna be someone playing pedal steel, along with someone on the flat-top. What makes me nervous about the music is, I will be the one on PSG. By the time of the wedding I'll have had just under a year of woodshed time on it.
So far we have Canon, whether we do it in C or D is TBD. I also thought Curly Chalker's "Last Date" would be good, but I have to learn it, and anyone who has tab for it would be my best friend.
Any other good wedding music suggestions? The bride is from Southern VA, groom from Philly. The crowd doesn't need to be WOW'd, this is only to play the wedding party in and back out of the ceremony, so it's a grand total of about 40 minutes of music, if that. Thx _________________ 1981 Push-Pull

Zachary,
I have both "The Bridal Chorus" (Here Comes The Bride) and the "Wedding March" by Felix Mendelssohn tabbed out.
Send me your postal mailing address and I will mail them to you. |

A song I have played as an instrumental at some weddings while providing backup is The Hollies "The Air That I Breathe."
The first time I played it was about five years ago at the wedding of my niece who was in her early 20's. When I suggested the song I thought I would get either 1. A blank stare because she would have no clue about the song or 2. She would "squinch" up her nose and say "eww" with an air of disgust.
But neither happened. Instead she said, "I love that song, Uncle Mark!"
Who knew?
Sorry, no tab. Another version, more contemporary sounding, was done by k.d. lang on her "Drag" album from 1997 with some very tasteful and subtle pedal steel by Greg Leisz, I was just listening to it on Rhapsody. _________________ Mark |
