I have had the great honour of playing pedal steel in the show described below (with two Festival shows left to run - tomorrow and Sunday) which has been held over for two additional performances - 2 PM and 5 PM Sunday August 29 at Edmonton's Varscona Theatre. It has received five star reviews from the Edmonton Journal and Global TV, and has played to full houses for several days now. For tickets contact Tix on the Square: http://www.tixonthesquare.ca/

Stationed in Paris during World War I a young Solider begins a love affair that will haunt him for the rest of his life.
Seventy years later his Granddaughter opens a box that releases a love from another time.
When songwriter Andrea House finds a box of postcards hidden in a closet in her Grandparents house, she discovers love notes from long ago written to her Grandfather, Forest House from a beautiful Parisian named Denise.
From a collection of turn of the century postcards comes a true tale set against the backdrop of WWI.
Forget-Me-Not is a unique blend of music and storytelling featuring Sterling award winner, Andrea House, guitarist Chris Smith, pedal steel player Bob Blair, Edmonton Symphony member Scott Whetham and songwriter Dana Wylie, fresh off her tour of England and Canada. Forget-Me-Not is directed by Sterling award winner Davina Stewart, and stage-managed by Anne Nielsen.

Thanks guys. Pete I was just thinking about you - I'm going to e-mail you with a small technical question I think you can answer. |

Five more shows to go. The Edmonton Journal gave the production a five star rating, which is as good as it gets. Andrea just gets better and better with each performance. |

This is another "feather in the cap" for the steel guitar that I have been doing my best to promote since my first show in the year of 1968. Having the steel guitar being a part of as many different functions as possible. Another step in getting the steel guitar in front of the general public! Good on ya mate! Thanks Scotty! I was just looking at my calendar and we actually have six more shows, not five. One of the cool things about this has been working with a tuba player, and a fantastic one at that. At curtain call (during which we are playing a swing tune of Andrea's called "Happy") I got a really great round of applause when I was introduced - the instrument is definitely getting noticed. I've been using an Excel keyless S-10 for the first time and it is a great guitar for a venue like that where you need to get on and off the stage quickly. I wouldn't call any of this music country, though a couple of tunes have a bit of a country flavour. |

I'm delighted to say (as per the edits to the original post) that the show has been held over for additional performances Sunday August 29 at 2 and 5 PM at Edmonton's Varscona Theatre. It has been a great run working with great people, and to sold-out crowds. |
