I'm happy Very Happy to be backing Leona and Ron at the annual Country/Grass Festival at Broken Acres Farm in Jefferson, Maine Aug.21. She has long been one of my favorite singers and Ron has a great set of pipes!
Classic country at it's best!

Amen to that, Fred. I've known her for longer than Ron has been born and she is a good friend. Ron is just a heckuva singer! Ask him to do Sing Me A Sad Song. He nails it.

Congrats Fred. I know you will have a good time. I haven't gotten to hear either of them in person, but hope too in St. Louis next month (if I can stay up that late). My grandson 16 year old Austin Stewart got to play for Ron a couple of months ago and is going to get to play for him again in October & Leona will be with Ron then in Columbia, MO. I will be taking Austin to that show and am looking forward to it very much. Austin loves playing for him, cause he does a lot of good country stuff. Enjoy your show.

To have them sound close to the recordings, I've been charting out some of Leona and Ron's songs that they 'may' perform and included Wynn Stewart's "Sing Me A Sad Song", just in case. Beautiful song!
Leona sent a list of 'probables', but we'll most likely be 'winging it', which doesn't bother me. I'm old enough to remember most of the "good" songs. Wink
I love flying by the seat of my pants Laughing

You'll enjoy them. And Austin plays very good. I've heard him here in Missouri and enjoyed him very much. Have a good show, Fred. As they said in the old days: break a leg!

Ray, Glad you enjoyed Austin. We are proud of him.

Fred, You and Austin would do good together. He loves playing by the seat of his pants too!!!!!!!!!!! Although he plays different kinds of stuff, he loves the old country songs.

I've heard some very good reports about Austin and understand why you're so proud of him. It's rare for someone his age to be into 'classic country'. Sad He has a great future ahead of him and I wish him all the best.

That's right Larry. I will be leaving Baxter with Austin on Saturday morning and do the show in Columbia and then back to Baxter as soon as Austin gets through playing with Ron. We hate for Austin to miss Saturday at Baxter, but we didn't want to turn Ron down. It will be a long weekend, but worth it I am sure.

RV's are arriving already, the weather forecast is favorable, so it looks like we'll be having a good turn-out. Very Happy
Hope to see some 'Forum' friends there.

Hey Larry, I'll be back in late Oct. Doing a show in NJ with Debbie Myers Oct.16th. There's a clip on youtube if you do a search of her or Renaisance,(where we're playing) you can see what I do in Fla.
Keep the home fires burning, or better yet, the AC on. Laughing

Leona and Ron put on great shows yesterday afternoon and evening! It was pure pleasure backing them, playing original songs from their CD's and some classic country tunes. We had the largest crowd, so far, since the Country/Grass Festival started, and the folks loved them!
Hope I get the opportunity to share the stage with them again. Very Happy
