Here's something from an early Gosden Bros CD, not on the original release. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDUKKaRw9wE Not crazy about the tune but the tele pickin' knocks me out. It's got that mellow cozmic hillbilly twang going on.
I think this is before he played the B Bender, which I prefer. (Sorry, not a B Bender fan )
Can some one suggest more good pre B Bender C. White on the telecaster?
Also, any idea who's playing steel on this track? Sounds like a Fender but doesn't sound like Red Rhodes to me.
cheers

I forgot about the album. Just listened to a track on youtube, Ode to Billy Joe. Pretty raw sounding, but I like it. _________________ Dave Zirbel-

Mr. B Bender Gene Parsons just confirmed with me that Carl Walden played steel on the early Gosden Bros. cuts. _________________ Dave Zirbel-

There's an interesting CD titled Tuff and Stringy Sessions 1966-1968. Some of the cuts were demos and lesser known So Cal singers. Some acoustic and electric from Clarence. 26 tunes. _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |

Can anyone familiar recommend some other good Clarence White material, besides his Byrds appearances? |

The Tuff and Stringy Sessions CD I mentioned above has some great Clarence tracks. Arlo guthrie's Running Down The Road album has some way cool Clarence and side by side with James Burton on "Coming into Los Angeles". Freddy Weller's "Games People Play album has some killer Clarence and Red Rhodes. Clarence played some real nice acoustic stuff on Jackson Browne's first album "Saturate Before Using". Many more, but there's a few. _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |
