I heard this song on the Ry Cooder sound track for the 1984 film Paris Texas. Its called "Cancion Mixteca" and I have always loved this song.
Here is my version, I hope you like it.

Very nice playing James.
I have to laugh...because when I saw the title with Cooder's name in it.....I thought maybe it might be "Crazy 'Bout an Automobile". |

Very nice James! I'm a big fan of that record also. There is something so poignant about it. Harry Dean Stanton sings this one, right?
I really loved the movie too. It's one of my favorites (all-time favorite being Pulp Fiction, which also has a killer soundtrack).
Thanks for sharing this with us. |

Thank you all for you kind words, I'm glad I managed to bring back a few memories and you liked my efforts,
Stephen, I looked up the Tube with
"Crazy 'Bout an Automobile". Don't hold your breath for that one.

Jim,
That was sweet! I thought I heard some influences from the great Bobby Ingano...

To be compared to one of the greats is a big compliment Kay, thank you very much.
I'm really just a backroom player enjoying himself though.

Hi James,
Also really enjoyed your take on "How is the world treating you". Very tasty.
How did you come up with the backing track on that?
Best regard and keep them coming,
Matt |
