Incredible performance last nite. The hits were rolling for over almost 2 hours.

It was a hoot to see John run through his guitar arsenal (7 I believe) and Jaydee played his butt off, of course. There were a couple of miscues (keys, lyrics) but, everyone was laughing and had a great time on stage. I doubt if 99% of the crowd caught the missteps.

Highlights for me. The vocals. Man Chris, John and Herb just nailed it. The band got a standing O for "Hello Trouble" and Herb's story about his early songwriting and offering "Wait A Minute" to the Seldom Scene back in the day. The band dedicated their performance of that tune to the Scene's Mike Auldridge and John Starling who were in the audience with their wives and friends. Touching and a real class act.

A great show!!

Howard,

I am floored to see your post. I cannot believe the Desert Rose Band was back together (IN MY AREA) and I missed them! What a class act of musicians and what a fabulous band! Are they back together for real or did they just get back together to do some events??
I will now be having a bad week! I am glad that you posted this and cling to your comments of how good the show was!

Take Care, Steve

So sorry you missed this. I think I got an email notification back in April and got tickets early.

My interpretation of Chris's comments were (and I paraphrase) "it's been 18 years, we should do this again sometime sooner, we will be back".

fwiw..I generally subscribe to the Birchmere and Ramshead calendars because those venues book interesting acts, especially those that aren't necessarily on radio Laughing

I flew down yesterday to see the show and flew home today. I agree with you, Howard, the music was great in all the ways you described. My only complaint is that we were seated on the far left, away from Jaydee, and I wished they would have turned him up a little. Other than that, man, what a night.

At first I was EXCEEDINGLY bitter that I had gigs both nights and couldn't see them. Then realized I should be grateful that I have work and should shut up about missing the show. I'm sure it was mighty fine!!!!

It was fine but, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
