Don't know if this has been available elsewhere for decades already, but to me it's yet another great find on this stupendous site. Here is this '76 show with Green, Big E, Chalker, Day, + http://www.archive.org/details/1976_St_Lous_Pedal_Steel_Conv.stereo.SBD.flac
Can someone say if the music is way fast? The talking certainly is chimpmonk-esque... as is everything I've found so far. |

Ron, thanx posting this link. I wasnt aware anything like this existed. I was able to make one st louis convention in the mid 80s. Prior to that i wasnt that knowledgeable of the world of steel. it's very special to be able to hear these past events and players at that time. This seems to be the only one going at that website. i hope they'll be more. |

I was there! I believe it was at a Howard Johnson motel conference room, It was my second year at St.Louis when I was Sho-Bud Product Mgr. for Gretsch,I remember David Jackson telling me, "We ate em up for tone!" meaning of course Lloyd Green playing his LDG thru a Sho-Bud amp with 2 15" JBLs, Yes Two 15"JBLs, You can hear it here on this post! I remember Curly,Weldon,Buddy,Wally,Ron E.& all that are listed here, Wish Ya'll could of been there! Great Memories! Al Udeen |
