The Queen Surf was located in Waikiki across from Kapiolani Park along the ocean, and it's Barefoot Bar was a popular hangout for many of the top performers during the golden age of Hawaiian music until it was torn down by Mayor Fasi amidst a huge cry of indignation prior to demolition.
Here's a shot outside at a tourist luau, musta been fun! http://cgi.ebay.com/Hawaii-HI-Queen-Surf-Luau-Postcard-Old-Vintage-Card-PC-/130420417030?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

Hi Ron...My wife and I were there in 1970 when the "condemned" sign was erected at the BAREFOOT BAR. We dined there the previous evening, enjoyed HILO HATTIE, STERLING MOSSMAN and a host of other great entertainers. The meal was great and when 'nature' called we went to our respective lua's and what a shock ! The walls were covered with roaches. It was small wonder the place was
condemned the next morning !! Sad, because the BAREFOOT BAR was so well known. I still have the great lp featuring Sterling at the Barefoot Bar. Sad

Count yourself lucky, George, now the restrooms along Waikiki beach are covered with **** & ****, even the roaches won't go in them.
