A Harlem jazz museum has acquired nearly 1000 discs of previously unheard and un-reissued live performances.

Basie, Holiday, Stuff Smith, Goodman, Young, etc. Lots of extended performances--all of it live.

Originally recorded at home by a skillful engineer with good equipment who later helped Columbia develop the LP format.

The collection has been known of for decades, but remained almost completely unheard.

It's now being restored digitally and may be reissued.
