Hi Guys
I just get a Mullen (pré RP) guitar and i need to change my knee copedent. He run very well, he's sweet and short, and i'm afraid of changing it)
at this time, the copedent is:
LkR: 4 and 8 to Eb and Eb
RkL 2 and 7 to G and G
RkR 1 and 9 to D and C#
i must change to:
LkR: 1 and 9 to D and C#
RkL 4 and 8 to Eb
RkL 2 and 7 to G# and G
If anybody can help and give a roding chart to me for this new copedent.

Salut Matthieu,
If you just want to swap knees around on a guitar that is working OK at the moment, I think you wouldn't need a copedent from someome else. Basically you have it all there already!
A good idea to start with is to write down an EXACT copedent of your existing setup first. A blank chart can be found on Carter's website Look here
Click "rodding" on the left side and you find some basic infos and a blank chart there.
Now all you gotta do is copy the same bellcrank and changerfinger holes to your new positions and rerod them, starting from those holes that are closer to the cabinet.
You might find that you want to readjust some of the lever's travels If the raises/lowess are out of reach or too far after rerodding.
I am BY NO MEANS an expert on this, but having no PSG builder around my neighborhood, I changed copedents on two guitars I bought and it worked just fine. I was a little nervous before my first takeapart, but if you just keep track of everything you do there, it can be done!
There are many very experienced and supportive forumites around who might chime in with more helpful hints and please correct me if i was wrong...

I wonder if i'm trying this copedent for the moment and just change the roding for the 1 string (G# instead of G). If it don't run well, i'll switch the knee. The problems is for my carter wich has a different copedent. Another solution is to switch the knee on my carter...

That´s exactly what I did when I recieved a Sho~Bud EX-12 a few months ago.
I played a Carter U-12 that used to have E-Eb on RkR and E-F on RkL.
The Sho~Bud has E-Eb on RkL and E-F on LkL. Tried that for a little while and started to like it a lot.
Now my Carter is the same...
The only thing I´m still not sure is if I want my F#( Str.7 on Sho~Bud) to be raised to G# or my G# ( Str.6 on Carter) to be lowered to F# on my LkR...  |
