Hey I have a goodrich volume pedal, and it seems to be working backwards. When I press it down the volume cuts out, and when I decompress it the volume comes back. Any ideas on why this is happening, or is this normal? Any info would be great. Thanks

Patrick

Sounds like the volume pot was installed backwards or at least improperly . Try restringing it starting with the shaft on the pot turned fully counter-clockwise .

If the pot was wired backwards, it would sound bassy, but wouldn't work backwards. The string must be wound in the wrong direction (backwards). Switch that around and you'll be good to go.

I didn't mean or say it was wired backwards . I meant that it may have been strung backwards . I think we agree on that .

Patrick....Remove the plate on the bottom of the pedal, then slowly depress it with your hand and observe which way the shaft on the pot is turning (should turn clockwise). If it does not, the problem is indeed the string.

For those that might not be aware, Jerry Byrd had his volume pedal purposely strung "backwards", as he preferred letting off the pedal to increase his volume.
