Promat D10 Push Pull # 17 guitar is in EXCELLENT condition it'a has a Day setup 8/4 but I have parts for the knee lever to make it 8/5. I bought the guitar from Randy and only played it a few hours then I had back surgery well as some of you guys know your never the same my pain and inability to sit there for any period of time prevents me from playing PSG anymore I'm finally accepting reality and parting with my PSG stuff.

Dennis thanks for the kind words. Lot's of tire kickers no one has taken the plunge yet. I guess things are bad when I can't sell a mint promat at less than half the cost of a new one. _________________ JCH 9/7

Not hard at all if you know what you are doing and there are plenty of guys around the country that can do that kind of work. I might not be able to sit there and play it for now because of my back but she sure is pretty to look at. I think I'll just hold on to it for now no need to sell it but might consider trading for a JCH that's the one brand I never owned. _________________ JCH 9/7

Hi Carl,
I don't know you but I am sorry to hear about your back trouble. I know
several people that have had 1 or 2 back surgery, one a young girl, and
they are still in terribe pain all the time. I saw the guitar and want
to know what the price of this guitar is. It is a nice looking one. I
have never owned a push pull, would have to learn the mechanics of . Bobby Seymour published a small booklet on them and gave me one. I am
79yrs. quit the music scene years ago eccept for playing for fun. I am
playing a Fessenden 12 universal. Have had D-10 guitars too and
because I have love for D-10's I might want to go back. If you can
let me known that cost if its still available Thanks Dick Shive _________________ Dick The Steeler |

Are we supposed to know the cost of a new one and do the math?
Sorry, but I don't understand the "If you have to ask" mentality |

Andy, I have no dog in this hunt. Carl hasn't posted since August. Someone else bumped it to the top. My guess. He's decided to keep it.

The Promat is the last Pedal steel guitar that I have left. At one point I was selling it outright I bought the guitar when it was 6 months old so it wasn't cheap. At the moment I'm open to offers but I'm not giving it away I'm more open to a trade cash and an S10 or full trade for an L5 or JCH even though I haven't been playing PSG for the last few years because of my back I don't want to be without one just in case I do get back to playing. as far as the L5 or other archtop I did buy some in the past year so I'm more open to a trade for a JCH even though I'm not playing at the moment I always wanted one and would trade for one. _________________ JCH 9/7

Carl,
Not to hijack your thread-but Mickey Adams mentioned the back thing. He said he has had 2 back surgeries. I got you beat buddy-I've had 5 of them, yes count them 5, and all in the L-4 and L-5 area. I'm sure hauling pedal steels around for years didn't help my back. But I know what you mean about being in pain Mickey. Every day my back let's me know who's boss. And as most back patients know, it's usually not the back that hurts-it's the legs and the butt, etc.
You younger players, learn to handle your pedal steels the proper way, especially taking them out of the case and putting them back in. Please be careful.
Sorry, I hijacked the thread Carl. But if I can save one back from the trouble I've had it's worth it.
Bob, you should start a section that sates "BACK CARE FOR THE PEDAL STEEL PLAYER" Ha!!
