Topic: Info on an older MSA Steel |

Hello I am new to the forum and just recently bought an old white MSA Classic. It has 5 pedals, and 4 Knee levers, It is a single neck 10 string guitar, and I can't find any info on this steel. I was wondering if anyone could give me a ball park on the year, and value, or any info on it? Thanks a lot,

| Patrick.....If you will provide the serial number I will do my best to provide you the information about your guitar. You will find it stamped into the metal on the bottom of the guitar close to the line of return springs. |

When you post the answer to Patrick's question, would you comment on the process for the fretboard, and other marking on this MSA.

Bill.....We used the silk screen process on most all our wood body guitars. We used it on the necks and on the front of the guitars. After it was applied, It was of course then encapsulated with multiple coats of clear lacquer.
Patrick.....Serial number 1C 2367 shows to be a white single 10 which left the factory with 5 pedals and 4 knee levers. It was originally shipped to our distributor at the time, who was located in Chicago who would have sold it to a music store. Your guitar was born on April 12th 1974.........Thank you for playing an MSA. |

| No Thank you for the info. I love this steel. I'd say its in good condition for its age and only has a couple bar dings on it. I'm trying to see if I got a good deal on it. What do you think a good price would be for this? It came with the original case, and a goodrich 120 volume pedal. Thanks again for the info. |

| Patrick I have White formica body MSA single neck Ser. No. 1C2921. I bought it used in 2000 it is on a like neck and one third frame. It has about a 2 inch shelf behind the neck. I made a pad and used Industrial Velcro to attach it to the body (no holes)I put a big groove out behind the key head for my bar and picks. handier than a pocket in a shirt. Me and BABY have went through 3 bands and now on our 4th a Gospel Group. never had a problem mechanicly with it yet. I replaced th keys on it with 1-14 keys on it. My own choice. GOOD STEELIN |

John R.....Serial number 1C6586 shows to be a VXL single 12 which left the factory with 4 pedals and 5 knee levers. The original owners name was Pete Willshe. The specific date of completion was not entered into record, however I would guess-ti-mate it was born in late 1980.
