Hello again, my fellow steelers!
I`m sure every musician, steel player, or otherwise, has what is known as a "warm up exercise". Well, so do I! (For what good it does. ) Anyway, I sometimes get so involved with what I am doing that sometimes the background track runs out before I do! Watch the expression on my face, at the end of the melody. What happened??? Did somebody pull the plug??? One of my "devoted fans, no doubt!!!!
Be Blessed!

Those kind of things happens to us all Ron. Great sound and great tempo on that song. The thing that I run into so much anymore is all these buttons on my recording software that I hit by mistake because of my bad eyesight. I mistakenly clicked on a button one time that made a repeat or echo effect and I coundn't remember what I had done. Like I said...these things happen. Again, you really have a great talent and your music is a treasure, thank you for sharing with all of us and keep up the great work my friend and God Bless. _________________ Marlen SD 10 3 and 5,Fender 5 String Banjo, Flinthill 5 string banjo,Johnson Resonator Guitar, Ibanez AFS75T Country/Jazz Guitar. |

Hi John H. (McGlothlin)
Hello my dear friend!
You know it is strange but somehow comforting to know I`m not the only guy in this (club), that can get tangled up when we get to a certain stage of youth? Like going into the next room, and not knowing what you went in there for????
Anyway, Thanks as always my friend! Be blessed!

Hi Al! (Brookes)
Talent? I just keep trying to do the best I can. By comparison to the many confirmed talents on this forum, I`ve just been blessed to play at all. Thanks my friend for the compliment.

Posted 21 Aug 2010 1:22 pm Hello Sir

I thoroughly enjoyed every second of that, fantastic playing. With what looked like a pedal-less guitar a thumb pick and one finger pick I think. I will be looking out for more of your videos. Many thanks for sharing, I really loved it Ron.
Regards, David Hartley. |

Yes, Ron lost his feet in a car accident some years ago, so plays non-pedal. |

Ronnie,
That was absolutely uplifting. When you first started off it reminded me of a chef preheating the oven and then when you got warmed up you threw the turkey in and started cookin !!!
If someone listens to this and does not move their feet, knees or rock there head and smile then they must be a zombie. I loved every tastey note you hit. Keep em coming. |

Hi Dave (Hartley)
Aha!! You caught me! I confess! Yes it`s me playing my lazy man`s way of picking/playing?
As my dear friend Al Brookes, has already expressed, I lost the use of my legs from the knees down, due to a drunk driver`s negligence, on July 18th. 1995. I may have lost the legs, but not my life, spirit, joy, nor determination to be happy! And believe me I still have my joy! Oh yes, by the way, I still walk, pastor my church, play my music, and I am generally one of the happiest of people around planet earth. Not only that, I`ve met some of the greatest steel players of the planet on this forum. I`m just thankful that they allowed me to put my two cents in style on this forum. It is a gas!!!
Anyway, Thanks guys,(Dave, and others) for your inquiries, and your encouragement. Be Blessed!

Hi Rick (Nicklas)
I thank you for that compliment. But I`m such a lousy cook, I`m surprised that anything I cook could possibly turn out digestable??? Dont fret, I caught the analogy. Thanks my friend, I just try to do the best I can. It`s good to know that somebody can stand my cooking! Be Blessed!

Hi Clyde (Mattocks)
Thanks my friend. As you can see at the end of this warm up, I was just as amazed as anyone could be! It broke me up when I viewed it, so I thought I would share it with anyone who could identify themselves with it and have a laugh too!!! Thanks again my friend.

Hi Mike (Michael Robertson)
Wow! Thanks for your encouragement! But Mike,
you got to watch out! I`ve heard that my playing causes upset indigestion? Naaaw, I`m just kidding. Maybe a little gas??? All joking aside my friend, I do thank you very much for the honor of making your day, it is a blessing! I will keep trying to do my best. Stay in touch!

Hey Doug!!! (Beaumier)
Again, I thank you for your encouragement. There is and old saying, " If you cant have what you want, use what ya got!" Well, I`ve had to rely on what I`m able to do, so I do the best I can. Thanks again my friend.
