OK, I'll give it a try....

If you mean it lowers the E fully, but then raises it as you continue to move the knee lever, then you need to adjust the knee lever's stop screw so it stops the lever travel at the right point.

One other thing...make sure the rod is not under tension (pulling the lowering finger) when the lever is at rest. There should be a little play in the rod...a 1/6th of an inch or so. If it is under tension, loosen the nylon hex tuner until the rod, and lever, are free, OR loosen the rod at the bellcrank so the rod only moves the distance needed.. Retune the open string to pitch if needed, then, while activating the knee lever, adjust the hex tuner until the lower drops to the correct pitch. If it lowers too far, adjust the lever stop screw so the lever doesn't go so far.

You might need to use a little of each adjustment to get the desired result, so play with it. I'm sure you'll find the happy spot.

Elton, if you're in or close to the DFW area and want to bring it by, I'll be glad to take a look at it for you. It sounds like an easy fix, but it's easier in person.

After some investigation,I found the e lever or LNR is not hooked to the E's.It lowers the 6 from g# to g,thus making the open chord an E minor. It was going past the stop so with some care I made the adjustment and got it in tune. This explains some of my frustration with my practice. Is this a custom set up,or rather common for some players.Sure makes the minors easy.

Elton,
I suspect it was intended to go down a full step -- from G# to F#. That's a more common change than G# to G alone on the 6th string.

Once you figure out how to use it I believe that G# to F# is a more useful change than the I to Im the G gives you (go back 2 frets and hit B+C or back 4 and lower E's to D# or up 3 and hit the A pedal and you get that same chord)

I wouldn't waste a KL to get an e minor open when there are already so many minors on the E9th setup? A pedal is "e" minor 3 frets up, lowering the Es on a KL gives you a "g#" minor chord open and B & C pedals give you the II minor of the key at the fret you're on. example=G fret w/B&C down gives you "a" minor. Hope I got that right?

I gotta get this thing looked at.I don't know what the normal set up should be.All I can say at this point and practicing the licks, some don't work out and some do.Believe it or not,Im coming around with this thing, except for that one knee lever.

If you have a problem while you are learning, and need a two minor or just the sound ,as most fellows that are good at ,back up music, the two minor is also found by,//leaving the fret you are in,and going down two frets with the d lever. Also on the same fret, you can drop the D lever, play that major, and go to your flat, then, one fret up,with the A pedal, and one more fret you are back to the beginning fret,or chord. As you get more familiar with the instrument, you'll see how far you can go from there,as you could also make a turnaround, using the two minor again. It is one of the most valuable chords in music.
If you are playing somewhere, and you have A and B down, and you hear the band using the two minor again, perhaps they are doing a turnaround, just include the 7th string with your A and B chord.
Better go before I run in there and start playing.
Bill
