The vote on 7/8" White Zirc Bars indicates that 3+3/8" is the length to go with. The material has been ordered...now the long wait. Send me an email to get on the list. |

Sorry Donna...I have no way of knowing. That list was between them, you, and Leo. Leo is not involved here. I got back into the Zirc thing because of the "LONG TIME" and other negative aspects involved that I got email about after I left it in Leo's hands.
I would hope that it was material problems.

|
|
ZIRCONIUM DIOXIDE = ZIRCONIA = ZrO2.
Translation...a hi-tek ceramic. starts as a mix of very fine powder, is packed at high pressure and high heat to get "near form". Diamond wheels are used to machine it to final form; then optical polishing techniques using sub micron diamond slurry are applied to get the final finish.
The serial numbers are laser engraved.
The density is 0.77 times that of tool steel. The hardness is near that of tool steel.
There are many types of stainless steel. Zirc is lighter, and nearly as hard...perhaps harder than some types.
Zirc does not oxidize.
Zirc is used in many hi-tek, and medical applications such as hip joints. |

I just happened to read your posts about this stuff and have seen pictures of people using them but didn't know what they were. Is any one ordering any of these bars or the material or where is it obtainable? Thanks dick _________________ Dick The Steeler |

I have been talking to Vinh since he took over the bars. I sent him my list of names so I am hoping he uses it.
