Let me be the first to say "Well Done"....In spite of the gas prices the 3rd anniversary show garnered many visitors and to say the least a fine stable of talent. I too was glad to be a part of it as I'm sure was every one else...The club has grown stronger over the past few years with the arrival of new talent...This is the best known best kept secret in the state of Florida....but the word is out .....My thanks to Jack, Don and Blake and all the club members for their tireless efforts in making it all happen..

Thank YOU, Jack for being there, helping out and doing a fine set.
We had ten talented players.
In addition to Jack Dougherty, we had Larry Bell, Connie Burton, Jack Stoner, Don Sulesky
Chet Gibson, Larry Danley, Ernie Cawby, Jim Price and Frank Shaffer.
It was a memorable 3rd Anniversary show for the Florida Steel Guitar Club.
Our talented back up band was composed of
Ray Riggs, Golf Brooks, Tom Murphy, and Karl Congdon.
Lonnie Portwood did part of the show with Chet and we had vocals by Lou Rochelle, Dave Henrie, and Belinda Cawby
There was some really fine music and fellowship.

It was truely a great show and I was glad to be a part of it thenks to Lonnie Poortwood and John Le Masters that pitched in and helped me with my set, they are both great and talented and my best friends.

Let me add my congratulations and thanks to everyone that participated. Without the talent we have in the club snd the efforts of everyone it would not be possible. We just provided the "vehicle".
I'll try to get a "better" lead guitar picker next year.  Actually, I have to put Ray in the "master" category and like Bobby Caldwell at the ISGC, Ray plays anything we throw at him and extremely well. |

I had a great time. Everyone is so nice and helpful. It makes all the hours of practice worth while. It is inspiring to hear all that good music.It makes you want to play even more! Good job you guys.

| My wife and I also had a great time and heard some great playing. But unfortunately we had to leave at intermission. So we didn't get to hear any players after that. Great show guys and gals ! ! Good food too at Catfish Johnnys ! ! |

I also want to give thanks to everyone who did such a fine job of playing.
And other than the song "Blue Jade" which we had three different versions of we had no duplicate songs that I can recall other than "A Way To Survive".And you can't have a steel show without hearing that song at least once.
What a great time and great folks to play for.
It was a pleasure to be a part of such a good time.
And as Jack & Blake mentioned what a great backup band we had to help us through the show.

It was truely another great show, I thank all that make it possible, Jack, Don, Blake, you guys make it happen, thanks a bunch from all of us.
Its always a pleasure for me to be a part of such a great group of talent, I also want to thank the backup band, Ray, Golf, Tom, Karl.
Thanks to Chet and Lonnie, and the band, you guys were super, what a great job, I still want to know how Chet got John to play Bass, for Him.

JACK,DON,AND BLAKE ANOTHER FINE EVENT AND A BIG THANKS TO CATFISH JOHNNY'S FOR THE GREAT FOOD AND THE USE OF THE ROOM. ANYONE WHO DIDNT GET TO THIS SHOW MISSED A GREAT ONE.

| Wait until Ray Riggs brings his steel over to one of our jams. If you didn't know it, Ray also plays steel. If he "can't play steel" like he "can't play guitar" we are all in trouble... |

I could and did sit and listen to Ray play lead all day. He is right up there with Grady Martin and Hank Garland in my book.
I'd sure like to hear him play steel.

| Hi Guys and gals! We had a great time Sat., being with you, yes and listening to Ray Riggs and his handmade guitar! He gets an absolutly wonderful tone, and his technique is as good as it gets. I've heard the best from around the world and Mr. Riggs is among the best of the best. He was kind enough to give me his CD and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks to everyone for your hospitality and kindness to me, Chet, and the fellows, especially Don, Blake, and Jack. Keep up the good work. Lonnie P. |
