Near mint condition Rob Ickes Wechter Scheerhorn for sale.
I purchased this guitar recently and had it set up as a state of the art "plug-in" guitar by Kent Schoonover. There are a couple of minor surface scratches, but that's it. No dings. Comes with deluxe tweed TKL case which is mint condition. Features Schoonover Modular Spider, Fishman Nashville series resophonic guitar pickup, and Scheerhorn cone. Just to clarify, the Fishman Nashville series spider style pickup is the one used by/endorsed by Jerry Douglas (and others) and is designed to be used with the Jerry Douglas signature series Aura imaging pedal. The Aura pedal is not included with this guitar and must be purchased separarately.
I hate to sell this guitar, but I need the cash! From a pure acoustic sound perspective, this guitar sounded better, significantly better in a side-by-side comparison of a Rob Ickes guitar with a Quarterman cone (which was set up by Tim Scheerhorn). I attribute that difference largely to the Scheerhorn cone. From a plugged-in perspective, the guitar sounds wonderful - no balance issues with one string ringing out more loudly than the others, etc. I attribute that both to the Schoonover modular spider and the set up by Kent Schoonover.
