I decided to start learning pedal steel a little over a year ago and picked up a Carter Starter. It was a great first guitar but it's weaknesses showed themselves as soon as I started gigging with it. It took me a few months but I found a Sierra D-10 locally for (what I consider)a good price. I was not looking for a double neck but I look forward to trying it out.

Congrats; good move. Excellent guitar, you'll never need to buy another guitar. The other neck is just as fun as the one you've been playing. |

Great looking Sierra. I played my D12-10 for over thirty years. Very seldom broke any string and for the most part always stayed in tune. What year is the one you bought ? My Guitar is very heavy and eventually gave me a very bad back from playing mostly casuals and having to lift and carry it so much along with a Peavy 400 Amp. Good luck with your new Sierra and watch your Back ! |

I have a d10 Session. After getting used to it, I think it's a great guitar. I've had no problems with tuning, string breakage, etc. I believe you'll like it. _________________ Sierra Session D10, Rickenbacker, Fender, Session 400, Classic 30, Harke |

I wish I still have my Sierra. I'd only owned it for about 6 months when my house (and the guitar) went up in flames. _________________ Gary Shepherd

patrick that those sierra's are great horns. i too found a d10 herby wallace model. just like new. they have great tone and the pedals are very smooth. they do weigh a metaphorical ton and can be tough to work on. i do think you will like it.
