Looking for a good lap steel stand-
I am aware that I, luckily, have a lap, and that Mark Roeder makes beautiful stands here-
looking to spend a little less at the moment and get the job done-
rather have an open area below than an X, like keyboard stands have
Thanks in advance |

The stands at Rondo are out of stock. I've got an email into them asking if/when they will be available again, but haven't got an answer yet.

I use a modified walker. I got the idea from a previous post on this site. The handle grips keep the guitar from moving around and it's light. I had to cut the legs and move the pin clips to suit my playing height. You could probably pick one up at a Goodwill or Salvation Army store. |

Warning: the Rondo lap steel stands ONLY fit the Rondo SX lap steel. They will not work with other brands of lap steels.
I'm using a keyboard stand currently. Works just fine and cost around $20.00 USD. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

John, do a search for Rondo stand in this forum and you'll find many previous discussions of this same topic. I can guarantee you it will not work with your Oahu Tonemaster.
The widest part of the stand is approximately 8 inches (20.5 cm) wide, far too narrow for any lap steel except the Rondo. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

John, this photo is courtesy of Jerry Hayes. It's a folding aluminum walker. Cheap, but effective. Adjustable height, foam handles to cushion the guitar. It might look a little odd, but I think it's a good idea. (I think this is the previous post that Tom K. got his idea from.)

I'm also looking for a stand for the guitar I built. If anyone has the keyboard stand that Tom posted a picture of, could you please post a picture of It with your guitar mounted on It? I'm trying to get an idea of how It looks with a guitar on It before I order one, thanks.

Dennis Burling recommended this stand to me and when I bought it from Musicians Friend it was on sale for $49.99 plus a small shipping charge. That was a heck of a good price for the quality, imo. It is sturdy and folds right up for storage.

I made a padded top for one of these and it works great for my Dual 6 Professional. |

Aloha all,
Recently bought a keyboard stand with an adjusting lever, and added a yoke with 1/16" rubber for the neck, and now I am fabricating a yoke for the body, also with non skid rubber. This seems to work great, stable, and the stand was about $40.

I set the case on the arms of the wheelchair with the guitar resting on top of the case.
It works very well for me. It also has wheels which makes it easier to transport. _________________ Regards
