Hey y'all, trying to help the widow of a friend of mine sell some gear. This looks to be an earlier Maverick. You know, the oneswith the natural/blonde maple body and and actual neck, unlike the later models. I've been out of the loop for a while so i was wondering if anyone had an idea of what these are going for? This one in in excellent condition and has the orignal manual, bar and tuning wrench. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. This one has 3 pedals and no knees.

Thanks
David

Really? I thought that's about what the vinyl covered Mavericks brought. Figured these would be at least a little more.

Hey David, that was my 1st Steel..Maple Maverick with the raised wood neck. I added a knee lever after the initial purchase. I think $450 is probably accurate...

Bring it over, lets take it all apart and paint it psychedelic with neon colors that only show up under a strobe lite !

They will sometimes bring a little more than the vinyl ones. Most of the ones that bring much more have been modified. If you gut that thing, and install all new belcranks, and changer fingers, you can end up with a pretty sweet playing and sounding guitar. The wood in those cabinets, is usually beautiful. You can add some wood inlay trim and make it into a really nice compact good sounding and playing guitar.

In other words, you can take that $450 guitar, spend a bunch of time and money doing about $6-700 worth of work to it, and end up with a guitar that is a lot of fun to play, sounds great, and is very light weight. Then it will maybe bring around $750 or $800. Embarassed

Ok, if it's $450, it's $450. Just wanted to make sure this lady gets what it's worth and not rip anybody off at the same time. BTW, Tony, she's the one with the '67 Tele for sale. You reckon the paint would raise the value? Kinda like sellin' a used car "how much gas is in it?" or "how much paint u got on it? LOL

Oh and any ideas of the fair market value on the Sho-Bud volume pedal? The pot is a little scratchy but, it works.

I would say that model ShoBud is worth more than the vinyl covered one for sure .Seeing as they go regularly for about $500 I would put the value of this one nearer $800 .

In my opinion, I wouldn't pay more than $400 for one of these, but I sold one about 3 years ago for $850, if I remember correctly. It had been modded to have 3 knee levers, 2 of which raised and lowered the Es, though.
