Cool--the body shape, bridge, and nut reminds me of some of the old Magnatone steel guitars.
Thanks for posting it, Mickey! |

I gave one of those to Paul Warnik a few months ago. They appeared in the 1972-ish Emmons catalogue. The bridge and nut are very sensitive to moving if downward pressure of the strings is not right on.
The one I gave to Warnik has the pickup with "Emmons" embossed on the plated nickel cover. It was a Barcus Berry pickup, if I recall.

It is an LS-8. We made right many of those at one time. Chris is right, the first ones had Barcus Berry or DeArmond outsourced pick-ups. The later ones had Pick-ups we made in house. I owned one for a long time and recently sold it. It was a fabulous guitar, sounded like my D-10! Really! Solid Mahogany body and great sustain. I already regret selling it, but like that old violin in the Paycheck song...

I think you are correct about the Dearmond pickup. I don't think the nickel plated pickup covers embossed with Emmons were ever used with Barcus-Berry pickups. _________________ Chris Lucker
