The final nominees for this year's Canadian Country Music Association awards were announced yesterday and Ed "Pee Wee Charles" Ringwald has been nominated as Best Steel Guitarist for his work with George Canyon's Band.
As some of you know, Ed is also part of The Western Swing Authority (with fellow George Canyon bandmate, Shane Guse, who is also nominated for 2 CCMA awards as Best Fiddle and Best Specialized Instrument).
The Western Swing Authority are a group of Canada's top touring and session players who play a small club in Ontario twice per month--much like the Time Jumpers do in Nashville.

That's great news and I hope he wins....Pee Wee has played with a lot of Canadian Name Artist's from Ian Tyson, Gordon Lightfoot, to his current job with George Canyon....go get 'em Pee Wee...

Congratulations Peewee! I can't think of any other steel player more deserving of of it than you.

| Thanks everyone for all the congrats...It truly is an honor to be in the 2010 Top 5 CCMA Steel Player Award ...I have been fortunate to have played with so many great artists over the years...Ian Tyson and the Great Speckled Bird on the Syndicated TV show , 15 years with Gord Lightfoot touring & recording, Anne Murray & so many more....I did take a sabatical to be with my young family & have recently returned to playing & touring full time with George Canyon www.georgecanyon.com ...After hearing the inspiring works of the Timejumpers, we put together a group of studio players in Canada, the Western Swing Authority & am having so much fun playing this great music http://www.myspace.com/thewesternswingauthority ..Music is a wonderful way to put smiles on the faces of people you've never met & make friends througout the world....I'm so thankful I have been given that talent & met so many fans all over the world in my travels...thanks everyone again for the nice emails...All the best....Peewee www.myspace.com/peeweecharles |
