Is this what you mean? I just googled and found this. Man, I really am behind the times Shocked I don't know of any Hawaiian song names. I'm real new into this genre, but since I want to gig here in the Keys, I figure I better learn. I'm a old school classic rocker and blues guy. But trying to find work as a 3 or 4 piece cover band is getting harder and harder. Plus I had a stroke last year, so playing and hauling my drums is outta the question. So, since nobody plays lapsteel to the dinner crowd down here, I figured I would give it a shot as a single act. I read music and play guitar, so I'm having a blast learning this wonderful instrument. But I must admit, I wish I could turn back the clock and start younger Laughing Props and respect to ya'll guys who play Smile

For a very thorough introduction to Hawaiian style playing I would recommend the Jerry Byrd course available from Scotty's.

Hi Tom, I use Band in a Box for this kind of a job. It's funny you mention this because I have a job coming up for the same exact thing your talking about. I'll be playing lots of dinner music type music with a little Hawaiian thrown in. Larry

Tom,

I have a whole series of backup tracks that I have used myself many times on live performances. Most of them are either country or pop tunes from my various albums. I do have one group of all Hawaiian tracks that I have used myself at Luaus and so on so I know they work. There are 10 popular Hawaiian songs on one cassette. These were all recorded at a good studio with drums, bass and rhythm guitar. If you would like to order one, it is only $10.00 plus $4.00 shipping. I also have been running a super special on 9 of my other rhythm tracks from various albums which the special is only $45.00 for all nine which these are on CD. If you decide to order, I accept visa, mastercard or discover.

Thanks,

Herby Wallace
