But if you play C6, I would urge you to look at some C6 pedal books. I have found some great info in them. Improved my playing way better than any non pedal book ever did. Especially the Jeff Newman stuff. But Basic C6 by Buddy Emmons is recommended, too.

Hi Edward,
I found these at: http://www.steelguitarcanada.com/instruct/pedalstl/jnewvid.htm

Jeff Newman ‘DVD / VIDEO’ Pedal Steel Instruction

Which would you recommend, or do you have another suggestion?
Can you suggest a retailer?

The C6th Workshop'
A two hour introduction from the basic tuning of the pedals to fairly advanced chord progressions. For the player who has never tried the C6th tuning, Jeff starts you off playing the basic string groups with easy chord progression rhythm tracks. Using the 5th & 6th pedals extensively, you will learn some good blues and swing chords, then Jeff's O.B.A.I.L. (Oh Boy Am I Lost) blues pattern. For the Intermediate to Advanced player, this course offers all you'll need for most of the C6th work you'll do with your band.
Two Hour DVD, Tab Book, & R.T. CD - $77.00

'C6th & Swinging - Parts 1 & 2'
Part 1…
This two hour course takes over where 'The C6th Workshop' left off. This is a serious course for learning to play some legitimate blues & swing scales and chord progressions on the C6th, with part 1 dealing with single note "pockets" we use all over the neck, moving them around as the chords change in the tune. Part 1 deals with 3,4,5, & 6 chord progressions used anytime you play C6th blues & swing things. Big charts unfold showing you the single note pockets like maps of the fretboard.
DVD, Tab Book, & R.T. CD - $88.00

Part 2…
As a follow-up to Part 1, songs like San Antonio Rose, and Sweet Georgia Brown, are dissected showing how to move the single note pockets around to improvise over the chord progressions. Included are seven intros on the C6th for San Antonio Rose, a swing instrumental for it, & four swing endings you can put to any tune. Find the melody in big fat chords, plus some nice fills with a singer. A fun course that will improve your C6th playing, but will influence your E9th playing as well. Jeff goes into detail about the number system for the C6th and how important it is to learn to think and play it.
DVD, Tab Book, & R.T. CD - $88.00

I can't find Basic C6 by Buddy Emmons anywhere in the world Sad
