Yes and contact Tom Bradshaw to get a dunlop pot. They work great and are guaranteed by dunlop. |

I don't see how a bad pot can cause rumble in an active pedal like the H10K. There may be something else wrong with it. Sometimes the chips go bad. Mine did and the Goodriches gave me a new one but I don't know if the chips can still be found. |

I have this pedal as well. A bad pot will make it scratch, even though it's an active pedal. You may try to see if a fresh battery cures the problem. If you have to buy a replacement pot, remember that you shouldn't use a 500k pot, but a 10k pot. _________________ ----------------------------------

When my 10K starts making noise I change the battery. Check it before sending off.
Also, if you unplug the output of the pedal when not in use it improves battery life, although a battery lasts months if not nearly a year in my experience.
Love my L10K.
I've got a Dunlop 500K pot in mine and it works fine. There's some info on this around the forum if you can find it.
Edited to add that a bad pot will make noise in this pedal. I had to change mine after buying from a forum member who didn't mention it. |

If it is the opamp, unless they've changed recently, the Goodrich folks obscure the part number. I think I replaced one a while back and had to dig around, but I found one that worked fine.
The key electrical characteristic was low power, and I think I just picked a generic opamp with low quiescent and operating current.
If the opamp turns out to be the issue (probably not), post back and I'll try to find the part number again. _________________ Lost Pines Studio

My H10K was also scratchy when I bought it, and a new 500K pot from Tom Bradshaw fixed the problem. I learned later that it will work with any size pot from 10K to 500K, and that 10K pots are supposed to last longer.
I put a DC jack in mine and power it from the pedal board. That way I don't have to remember to unplug the output when not using it. |

Lynn is correct. You can use any size pot from 10K to 500K with a logarithmic or audio taper in the Goodrich model 10K pedals. The Dunlop 500K pot from Tom Bradshaw is an excellent choice for a replacement.
Also, Goodrich is now offering a new pot. (part number KA5041S28 -HL) This new pot claims to have a one million cycle swipe life, which is twice the rated life of the old Claistat pots. These new pots are made in Canada. Goodrich says that ALL of their new pedals now come with this new pot installed in them. _________________ http://www.jagwirestrings.com |
