Hi Carl,

There are a lot of people coming from various parts of the States, including Hawaii, and even Spain, Canada, and maybe England. There is only one other person coming from Colorado beside yourselves. His name is Chris Kennison. You will want to meet him. Here is a playing schedule which list the players.

Winchester - Aloha Steel Guitar Club Convention Playing Schedule

I will look forward to meeting you.

Aloha, Smile

Carl,

I talked to your dad several times and he said that he wanted you to play at least rhythm backup for him and that you did not want to play steel. I have heard many comments on your playing pedal steel and I wish you would bring your steel with you. You don't have to play on stage but I think you would enjoy the after hour jams at the motel and restaurants. We have several pedal steel players and they also would like you to join in with your steel. You don't have to play Hawaiian songs. Please reconsider and I think you will be glad you did. Looking forward to meeting you and your dad. Andy

That's great news, Carl. After all, we are out to have some fun and there's no better way than to join in. You won't regret it. Andy

hi Carl,
I'm heading out this year for the first time. I'm looking forward to it. Will be nice to meet new folks, and also see someone else from CO. I love Cortez! I went to Ft. Lewis too. I know Jeff Pope there, he runs KSJD. I manage KRFC in Fort Collins - so we chat once in a while about radio issues.

See you there!

Chris

Hey, Andy -- I just called the Randolph to find out the location(s) of the performances, and the lady told me that on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., it will be at Willard Middle School? I'm planning on bringing my mom, sister, and brother, so we're excited to hear some great playing. I might come by myself on Thursday -- will that also be at Willard Middle School?

Andy is probably already at Winchester and may not get your message.
However, the convention is at the Willard school on Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

Got these words from Bobby Ingano about this year's featured performer, Ron Kanahele, and the fun had at the show:

What Ron lacked in songs, he more than made up in his awesome "Aloha Spirit"!!
Everyone said that it was the best show they ever saw!! In short, he brought the house down!!
Nobody could accompany his old style of music, so I joined him on every show!!
Simply-put, it was "BEAUTIFUL", for the audience as well as for us!!

Even with all the trepidation of having Ron as the guest this year, I knew he would GEEV 'EM and be a success. Right on Ron!
Good thing Bobby was there to help make it all work, in true island style!
Now let's hear it from those forumites who where there, and let's have some vids, please!
