I took the 4th pedal off of my E9 so I could use the rod on the C6 to switch over from emmons to jimmy day setup. Now I'm looking for a way to open up the E9 neck a little bit more and I'm considering putting the 4th pedal to work again. but I'm curious what people are using it for out there. I think before I took it off it was raising the top F# and I didn't find alot of use for it. Everything on my E9 neck is standard Emmons setup. any ideas? _________________ What's that weird twangy slide thingy? |

You could try lowering your string 10 down to G# on your 4th pedal which gives a good bottom for the B6 side of the neck.

I raise my 7th string F# to G# and use it a bunch, both open and with the E's lowered. Tom Brumley thought up that change and used it a lot. I've had it for a long time and next to my A & B pedal it's my most used. I have it next to my A pedal....JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |
