Hey, just a heads up that this album is out next week. I'm very excited to have played a tune on it and Jerry Douglas rounded up a pretty accomplished crew of dobro pickers and A-list Nashville studio vets to pay tribute to the cool tunes of Tut Taylor. This should be the dobro CD of the year and I hope you all enjoy it. Here's a link to check it out...

Looks like an outstanding lineup of resophonic players. What a great tribute to Tut Taylor! Thanks for letting us know.

Hey, Orville, that's terrific. Looks like a great CD. I still can never get enough of that Aereo-Plain band, Tut was a terrific picker.

I should mention that even though this is a tribute to Tut's music, this is a case of giving the flowers while he's living. Tut is 87 years old and I just spent two days with him at his home in North Carolina gathering info for an article I'm writing on him. We talked a lot about the Areoplain band, Mike!

My favorite acoustic band ever, and the first to get me interested in resos & sliding (even if it did take me a few decades to act on that!)...

Is he still picking?

After leaving Port Townsend, Mike Witcher and I were treated to some amazing video of the Aereo-Plain band on the David Frost Show by our host. It blew me away.

Yes, he sure is still picking. He's a little slower but gets a killer tone and is still writing tunes. He still attends Merlefest and has a jam tent there and is, right now, at the Reso Gathering and, from what I hear, selling copies of the new CD from a box of advance copies that Jerry got to him!
