Topic: I need help. tuning the stop on D/C# lever on emmons LL II |

I'm somewhat new to the pedal steel. I'm not sure how to tune the stop and half stop on my 2nd string. I don't really use the C# sharp because its always outta tune. Do you tune the stop to C# and the adjust the half stop, if so how?

| Bruce...If you will notice, the lever also lowers string nine a half step. If you can time the two strings so that the ninth string lower begins to engage when you have reached the half way point on the second string lower, the extra pressure you feel on the lever should act as a half stop. (The second string C# should be in tune before any other adjustments are made.) |

Emmons makes an excellent "1/2 stop".
It can be tuned and adjusted via a knurled nut.
I have installed it on other pedal steels other than Emmons. |

The lever doesn't effect the 9th string at all. I wish it did. Is the part in the photo the knurled nut? I've noticed you can kinda adjust the tension of the lever with it. Thanks for the help guys.

The nut is where you adjust the 1/2 stop.
If the stop is not definite enough, move the collar so you can put more more tension on the spring. |

I've been messing with it, and it feels and sounds alot better now. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but what are some common chord voicings using the C# note, or maybe some licks?

| Bruce...Common pickup lick.... with A pedal down and knee lever lowering string two to C#, pick strings two and five together. (notes should sound in unison). Slowly release both pedal and knee simultaneously and pick strings two and five open. Slide up two frets and again pick strings two and five open. |
