Two weeks ago I had the great pleasure of taking delivery of the first production model Steelmixer Serial number 0001. The prototype models were I believe demonstrated at the Dallas Steel Show by the well known British steel player Dave Hartley and it's designer Mark Dunn who also manufactures them. Mark is also a very well known and acomplished steel player here in the UK. I doubt that many of you would have heard of the Steelmixer as this is a brand new product and has just been launched in May 2010 for full details I would suggest that you check out the following link before reading of my first impressions of this new product. Here is the link: http://steelmixer.com/

My first impression was how convenient it was to have your reverb, delay, foot pedal, and the Steelmixer units all coupled together and mounted on a common base plate which made it easier when setting up. The second thing in it's favour was the guitar leg mounted remote control which enabled you to change both your reverb, and delay settings while still seated behind your guitar, it also allowed you to reverse the effects pedal chain via a control knob mounted on the remote control unit. The stomp button on the top of the Steelmixer is another feature that I liked which enabled you to sound like a true professional when it came to fast picking. I found an immediate vast improvment in the clarity of my sound coupled with outstanding string separation and a sustain to die for. In short I am over the moon with my Steelmixer, if any of you were considering purchasing on of these units I can assure you that you will not be disappointed in it's performance.
