Ha! I just sent you a Facebook message mentioning a Lisa & Her Kin gig a week from today in Sacramento, but believe it or not, I'm unaware of anything happening here in town Monday, steel-wise. I'll let you know if I discover anything!

Hi Ian. I'm looking for steel action on Sunday night. I'm leaving for home Monday AM. Tell your bro Joe Shelby says hi!

If you're at the Bluesfest this weekend I play on a boat at 2:30 and the mainstage at 5:30.

Dave Very Happy

PS: Got your Facebook message. I picked up a session the night you're in Sac, which is still 2 + hours away.

Duly noted, Mr. Z!

You may see Chris down there, I have to do some pre-tour shopping, so I may not make it, but I'm still on the case for Sunday......

Knock 'em out in your inimitable fashion, sir!

Contact Mike Winter on the forum...I'm pretty sure there's a Hootenanny that day. Usually a few steel players in the house (actually, it's a barn...). I will be playing that day, but out on the coast!

Hi Dave,
I'm thinking of heading down Sunday for The Commander and Nortons AllStars.
'Not sure of any other steel that night yet.
Pete

Dave, I couldn't make it down but was able to listen to your set on the radio.
The Steel sounded great! Nice level and tone in the mix. You were hotter and clearer than the lead guitar.
Cool,
pete

thanks. Good to hear because the year before I left my amp in the trailer since I was toting around a D-10. All I could find in the backline was a Twin with crappy speakers and I had to compete with TWO LOUD TELE players with Twins! Not good. After the set a tele picker that's played at some steel conventions came up and basically said my tone was crappy. Sad But then another well known steeler that was watching the set actually said my tone was great Very Happy but he was more into sacred steel. I guess since it was a Blues festival I could get away with a little growl in my tone.

Well after that I wasn't going to let it happen again so I brought the Kline S12U and the mighty Webb, put my 33db foam earplugs in and let her rip! (and hoped I was in tune with good tone...........)

Here we are:
