dumb question of the day: can the length of the pedal rod be adjusted so that the pedals are all the same height?
the A pedal (left most) on my older Carter D-10 sits about 3/8 inch above the pedal next to it; this is just enough of a difference to mess me up.
am I supposed to be able to compensate for this when playing, or can it be adjusted to make them level?
there's only one hook at the top, so that end is fixed, but can I adjust the length using the screw thing at the bottom...? it doesn't seem to want to turn and I don't want to bend the rod... advice would be appreciated.thanks |

You should be able to adjust it using the screw at the bottom of the pedal rod. The B pedal was lower than the A pedal on my guitar too. I would leave it that way, makes it easier when your rocking your foot from B to AB . |

Here is some info from the Carter site:

Look at slides 4 and 5. You will see that they recommend having pedal 1 a tad higher than the rest of the pedals. With it set that way, you don't have to rock your ankle over so far when using Pedal 1. _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande
There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.
