Thanks to George Boards Piburn, I now have a lap steel I can truly call my own.

I do have a 6-string Gretsch Electromatic that I'll be keeping tuned in open E for now, but it's just not the same, you know?

This beauty sings. The tone is like a bell, and playing it through my Pod with a wee bit of processing just opens it way, way up (though that single-coil hum does kick in when I bring up the drive very much).

The tone knob has an accompanying switch to change its range, and I'm discovering that I like a middle tone more than I thought I might. Very mellow Smile

Still struggling with right hand technique and pick vs. finger methods, but I'm motivated by the instrument and the music I want to make with it.

Now I just need to practice for 20 years, so I can sound like Gary Brandin!

Congrats on the new guitar!

The first steel I bought was a Gretsch Electromatic. what a POS that was. Glad you have a much better steel now.
