Hey y'all, I'll be playing with Pat James' band this Saturday, July 16, at the Festival de Tullins, in Tullins, France...

then to Corregio, Italy on July 17 for the Festival of Corregio...

then, after a few days rest, the Festival Eurostream Country concert in Roeser, Luxemburg on July 23.

Any Euro-forumites planning on being at any of these shows?

Herb, that is a great news.Make sure to try a Franch wine and some original munster chese with some franch bread while in France. In Italy please don`t forget to get some of their great Italian esspresso and in Luxembourg if you have time visit an open market and try some of the fresh shrimp.I traveled a lot around Europe and only thing I would love to add to this delicious trip would be some Swiss chocolate.
Have a safe trip.

Herb,

Whats up with with all these Texas steel players going to Europe at the same time. I am in France this week, then to Germany, Spain, and Denmark.

If you plan on being near Nice on July 22,23,or 24th we will be at the French Riviera Country Music Festival.

I guess you've got to find work where you can. Maybe I'll see you while you're here but I doubt it.

See ya

Don

Herb, I would have been happy to have been your "roadie" on this trip if you had only asked. Like the song says, "I've been everywhere...but Europe"!

Brother Don
Loessberg is going over next week with Jason Allen, Scott Walls in two weeks with Cornell Hurd, etc. Time is ripe for some of the Centex newbies to score some Austin gigs, right?

Did you get your case issues settled? I'm gonna have to take a guitar in a single case... 67lbs.

Which brings me to Gene... I'd have loved to have you as a roadie, Gene. I refer you to the 67lb. steel case listed above.

Hey Herb, any chance you might see your old boss Jimmy Lawton while you're over there or is he still in Belgium? Good luck on the trip and I know you'll knock 'em dead....JH in Va.

Coincidentally, I just spoke with Jimmy Lawton yesterday. He's with his brother in Missouri for a little r&r, then he's going back next week. But we won't be crossing paths, unfortunately. I had a good time with ol' Jimmy back in the day.

Herb..

I'm about 90 miles from your Luxemburg gig. What time are you playing the Festival Eurostream Country concert in Roeser? We're supposed to be coming back on that Saturday from a vacation in Southern Germany; but I have the okay to come home on Friday night so we can make it to your gig. I'll try and bring a German steeler I met since being stationed here.

Herb, Good Luck over there. I'm jealous. But on the other hand i'm filling in for Pat at The Buffalo Chip while he's gone. So at least I'll be working/singing with the great Danny Sneed and the boys. Starting tonite at 8:30. I can't wait.

Life can indeed be cruel. For the first and probably the last time in history we have a world class steel player here in Luxembourg and Im leaving for the US that morning! Worse of all I live in ROESER !!!! A good friend Buffalo C Wayne is on the same bill and will certainly look after you guys. Have a great gig. My career will be shot when Luxembourgers discover how a steel is SUPPOSED to sound....

I met Buffalo at the gig last night. We play tonight, as does Buff. He's got Andre Sommer playing steel for him and we had a great chat in the food tent. Looking forward to tonight.

Then, back to Paris for a couple days and then home to Texas. I enjoy Europe fer sure, but there's no place like home and wife.

Hey Herb ! I just found this thread. Man, it was a real pleasure to meet you in person and hear you play last saturday. You were awesome and the whole band was outstanding as well !

It was a shame I couldn't properly say goodbye because I got held up in Buffalo's dressingroom (tent) longer than I expected. I have tried to find you afterwards but didn't see you anymore and I had to leave with the band car to Brussels. I am sorry about that. BTW, thanks for the wine and I would have loved to finish that bottle with you

Anyway, did you enjoy your stay in Paris? I hope you had a good trip back home and I will sent you an email tomorrow. I assume the one in your profile is the correct one.

Take care and 'talk' to you later.

André.
