That's really cool, Bill. I have a two year old son whom I hope will take up an instrument someday and we can play music together.

Awesome! How old is your son and what instrument(s) does he play? Man, to be chosen by Grisman to solo onstage after only 1 year of playing, he must be downright scary-good!

Congratulations to you both,
jc

My son's 15. He started playing last june at a bluegrass concert and hasn't stopped since although now his tastes run towards playing Thelonius Monk and Miles Davis on Mandolin.

Man, I wanted to go. Just checked my calendar and I'm playing in town that night. If it gets bumped, I will be there.

Wow... sounds like a neat gig and your son.... to be where he is now in a year of playing, sounds like he's headed for true greatness... we may have the beginnings of the next guitar legend here. Fantastic.

Bump.

Please come if you are in the area. I'll be playing my MSA 12 string lap steel, my Baritone Weissenborn, and my dobro. My sone will be playing mandolin, and electric mandolin. He will most likely being doing a duet with his uncle (principle bass with the new york city ballet) doing some thelonius monk tunes on his electric.

Wow, that sounds like a terrific show. I'd be there in a heartbeat if I still lived in Jersey!

Bill, I'm gonna try to get in as a child. I'll just tell them that I worry a lot....

Bill, I've seen him play bass. Hopefully at this venue he won't be wearing his tu tu & slippers...

I'll do my best to attend.
