Sorry that this is off topic, but this is the only place here I hang out and I know that there are many fine developers of new products and designs here, so I thought I'd ask for some advice.
Has anyone got experience with a provisional patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office? If someone could offer advice about how to protect a trademark, that would be very much appreciated!
Many thanks!

I own many registered trademarks. Patents are a completely different set of rules. What I would do for starters, till you get everything in order, is to make an accurate copy of the trademark, and mail it to yourself by REGISTERED MAIL return receipt requested. It is important to never ever open the Registered letter until the final US trademark is complete. Make a photocopy of what is inside the Registered letter and keep the two together. If a dispute would occur, this Registered letter should only be opened in the presence of an official of the US Trademark office.
Finally, use an attorney that specializes in trademarks and copyrights. This is one area where the money is well spent.
Been there, done that.
