Bobby's new one is hot off the presses, titled Steel'n Love, and it won't be in stores. So if you're interested in it go to www.steelnlove.com
They go for $15, or $25 for two. Add $3 for shipping.
Except for some percussion, uke, and a bit of extra guitar/bass by Mark the producer, plus a stone cold 1 take Strat lead on Ralph's Blues tune by brother Ralph Ingano, Bobby played all guitars/bass and is extremely pleased with the new one. No vocals!
Alan's Simply Steel is another DYI as far as the instruments go.

Ron -- I'd like find both. I went to Alan's link but couldn't find anything related to buying his CD. _________________ Al

So far I have all of Bobby Ingano's CD's, and enjoy all of them.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that Bobby is planning to perform at the
Aloha International Steel Guitar Festival in Winchester Indiana July 8-10, 2010.
He will be bringing his new CD's there.
Aloha,
Don |

Good luck to Alan and Bobby on their new CDs. We can expect virtuoso performances from both of them. There needs to be more CDs out there in the market featuring lap steel guitar.... ponder on the many many CDs featuring regular guitar....
Watch out for Bobby's rendition of "On a Little Street in Singapore", "Autumn Leaves", "Pennies from Heaven" and others.... among the very best...

I have Alanʻs new CD...and I must say I enjoyed it very much....and have spun it numerous times since I did get it. (Got it as soon as it came out) Of course Iʻm biased, as I am one of his haumana, but I would suggest it for anyone and everyone who enjoys Hawaiian steel guitar and wants to hear it at its best. Some of the cuts are: Nani Waimea/E Maliu Mai/Hawaiʻi Calls/Puamana/Haole Hula and a few more that Iʻll let yʻall discover. Also, he lists each tuning on the CD for those of us, (all of us) who like to know these things. One of the things that I really love about it is that the instrumentation is simple and secondary to the steel, so it really lets you hear what is going on. Kudos to Greg Sardinha who engineered the recording...very clean and nice mix. Iʻm sure if you contact Alan directly, either through the Ke Kula Mele Hawaiʻi website or his site linked through that, he would be glad to hook you up...or you could also get to him through Facebook. |

Don, I'm sure he'll bring a load with him. You are encouraged to post the info on the HSGA's site for the few that might miss it here.
There are 18 excellent tunes on this one, 3 of which were written by himself.
Per Alan's CD, I'll have to contact him to find out the best/easiest way to get his.
Now... if we can just get Jeff Au Hoy to bust out with a premier effort, the world would be perfect! |
